ISDN PRI Service

PRI T1 Service is a Primary Rate Interface (PRI) phone service consisting of 23 voice or data channels (B channels) and one channel for signaling (D channel), on the PRI line. In addition, the network used is an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), which allows for many types of voice and data applications. With ISDN PRI service it is an industry standard used by many call centers and businesses for crystal clear digital phone service. Typical applications are local and long distance calling, as well as video conferencing, fax, and dial-up data connections.

A major benefit of an ISDN PRI line is that it provides increased call efficiency through a PBX phone system. This is done by setting up and breaking down the PRI phone calls faster than a regular voice T1, SIP trunks, or phone lines. Other benefits of a PRI circuit are advanced features like Caller ID Name and Number (CNAM), Call Data Information, Direct Inward Dialing (DID), all done through the D channel signaling on the circuit.

ISDN PRI lines are known for very high reliability (99.999%+ uptime), which exceeds that of normal analog phone lines or SIP trunks. This high level of performance is another reason businesses choose PRI service for their voice communication needs. Another reason is cost, since ISDN PRI pricing is comparable to that of SIP trunking in most markets, but without the risk of poor voice quality or downtime. PRI T1 lines are also known as a PRI Trunk, T1 Phone Line, PRI Phone Service, VOIP PRI, or SIP PRI.
