T1 Phone Line
A T1 phone line uses a T1 digital circuit to carry multiple voice channels over a single connection. A traditional T1 provides approximately 1.544 Mbps of total capacity and can be divided into 24 channels for telephone or data traffic.
Businesses historically used T1-based voice services to support multiple simultaneous calls between a PBX and the telephone network. PRI service is one common way a T1 circuit has been configured for business voice communications.
T1 phone lines may also be called T1 voice lines, digital T1 lines, or T1 voice circuits.
