Gbps is a unit of data transfer rate equal to 1,000 megabits per second, Gbps is an abbreviation for gigabit per second. The measurement is a standard used in telecommunications and data services to describe the size of data transfer rate. Gbps would be considered the largest measurement of data transfer when compared to smaller unit of Mbps. Gbps is also known as Gigabit Per Second, Gbit/s, or Gb/s.
