Mbps is a unit of data transfer rate equal to 1,000 kilobits per second, Mbps is an abbreviation for megabit per second. The measurement is a standard used in telecommunications and data services to describe the size of data transfer rate. Mbps would be considered a larger measurement of data transfer when compared to smaller unit of Kbps. A T1 line would have a data capacity of 1.544 Mbps or 1,544 Kbps. Mbps is also known as Megabit Per SecondMbit/s, or Mb/s.
